FAQs
Everything you always wanted to know about Nightguards, Bruxism and more.
Should Nightguard stay on my teeth when I open my mouth?
Not to worry! Let's first go through a few questions: did you take the boiling water off the heating element and wait 60 seconds before inserting the Nightguard into the water for 25 seconds? How long did you leave it in the water? Click here for additional help in fitting. You may also call our Customer Service Department for assistance at 1-800-4-DENTEK, M-F 8AM-5PM (EST)
The Nightguard tastes funny in my mouth. Is this normal?
First of all, define "funny." If your Nightguard has a "moldy" taste to it, you need to replace it immediately by purchasing a new Nightguard. If your Nightguard tastes plasticky, try soaking your Nightguard in mouthwash for a few minutes or use an effervescent tablet. Be sure to use room temperature water. Hot water can alter the Custom-fit you created. You can also brush your Nightguard with toothpaste to help clean it. Be sure to store the Nightguard when not in use in the storage container provided as it has built-in vents for proper aeration.
I find myself drooling when I wear the Nightguard. Is that normal?
It may take a week or two to get used to wearing your Nightguard at night. If, after that initial adjustment period, you still are having issues with excess saliva, the DenTek Nightguard may not be fit properly. You can still re-fit one more time to achieve the perfect fit.
Does the Nightguard contain any latex?
No, DenTek Nightguard does NOT contain any latex or silicone. There is no flavoring in the product either.
